James L. Wilkinson

Of Counsel

Jim Wilkinson is Of Counsel to the firm and concentrates his legal practice in the representation of Massachusetts health care professionals involved in professional liability claims and matters pending before professional licensing boards. For over 35 years he has counseled and represented health care providers from every discipline of medicine through all phases of the litigation process.   Intense focus and thorough preparation are the hallmarks of his uniform success in Jury Trials.  Jim’s years of experience representing clients before the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine and Nursing are integral to obtaining optimal results in licensing board matters.

Jim serves as a consultant to medical professional liability insurance providers and hospital quality assurance/improvement and risk management programs in the greater Boston area.  He frequently speaks before medical organizations and societies, grand rounds and continuing legal and medical education programs. Jim also served, pro bono, as Counsel to the Federation of State Physician Health Services.

Jim was born in Brooklyn, and grew up in Levittown, New York.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Hofstra University and was elected to Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.  Jim also played as a midfielder on Hofstra’s nationally ranked Division I lacrosse team.

Jim graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 1984. While earning his law degree, Jim was selected to the Suffolk University Law Review and published Case Notes concerning Federal and state Constitutional Law issues.  He also represented indigent persons in civil and criminal matters as a member of the Suffolk University Voluntary Defenders program.
